I offer two-hour or half-day architectural tours of Oxford, in English or French. We will see almost 1,000 years of history, from Anglo-Saxon towers to mediaeval colleges and modern masterpieces such as the Blavatnik School of Government.

Oxford encompasses examples of early Norman church architecture, colleges constructed over more than eight centuries, Tudor and Stuart university buildings, classical chapels and museums, the Restoration glories of the Sheldonian Theatre and the soaring Baroque of the Radcliffe Camera.

Georgian town houses and shop fronts, the Victorian brickwork of Keble College and the Oxford Union, and the neo-gothic splendour of the Museum of Natural History and Balliol chapel all add to the variety of the city, while more recent examples of striking architecture can be found at the renovated Ashmolean Museum, the University Science Quarter and the new Schwarzmann Centre for the Humanities.

I’ll be happy to adapt to any requests for tours focusing on specific styles or periods.
